What does a gearbox overhaul involve?

Assessment of the assembly, identification of the damaged components and definition of what can be reconditioned and what has to be manufactured. The scope is agreed before the work starts.

Do you manufacture the internal components of the gearbox?

Yes. We manufacture gears, worm wheels, worm shafts, shafts and other replacement components from a drawing or from the original parts.

It is adapting the gearbox to a working condition different from the original one, which usually requires reviewing the internal components. Feasibility is assessed case by case.

Can a gearbox from a manufacturer that no longer exists be reconditioned?

Yes. This is one of the most common cases: we work from the physical parts, reproducing the components required.

What is the lead time for reconditioning?

The lead time depends on the condition of the assembly, the components to be manufactured and the material. It is defined together with the quotation, after the technical analysis.

Gearbox reconditioning is a natural extension of our work: because we manufacture the internal components — gears, worm wheels, worm shafts and shafts — we can work on assemblies whose replacement parts are no longer available on the market.

The service starts with the analysis of the gearbox and the damaged components. From there we define with the customer the scope of the overhaul, what will be reconditioned, what will be manufactured and the lead time involved.
